20.0 x 12.5cms, 626pp, b/w engravings. Later full calf, rebacked, with raised bands, gilt-lettered red morocco spine label, gilt date at foot of spine, repaired corners. Approximately five engraved plates are missing; one back endpaper missing; binding worn but sound, with rubbing, surface wear, repaired corners, & cracking/creasing to rebacked spine. Early blank with old ownership inscription & date. Title-page present, toned & soiled. General age-toning, browning, spotting, occasional staining, creasing & handling wear throughout. Some marginal wear & small closed tears. Text block generally firm. Although incomplete, this remains a genuine 17th-century medical text with surviving engraved material & strong historical interest. Works of this type were heavily used in practice, & copies are often found in compromised condition.
