Shipping

All books are carefully packed to ensure they arrive safely and in the condition described.

Particular care is taken with rare, antiquarian, and higher-value books, which may receive additional protective packaging where appropriate.

Shipping Destinations

Carmela's Books ships within Australia and internationally.

Shipping costs are calculated at checkout or provided upon request for larger, heavier, or higher-value items.

Dispatch Times

Orders are generally dispatched within 2–5 business days of payment being received.

Where there may be a delay in dispatch, we will contact you as soon as possible.

Delivery Times

Delivery times vary depending on destination and shipping method. Any delivery estimates provided are indicative only and cannot be guaranteed.

Customs and Import Duties

International customers are responsible for any customs duties, taxes, import charges, or other fees imposed by the destination country.

Risk and Delivery

Risk of loss or damage passes to the purchaser upon delivery to the shipping address provided at the time of purchase.

If an item arrives damaged, please contact us promptly and retain all packaging materials where possible.


Returns

We want our customers to purchase with confidence and stand behind our descriptions and condition reports.

Books Not as Described

If a book has been materially misdescribed, you may return it within 14 days of receipt for a full refund.

Please contact us before returning any item.

Change of Mind

Requests for returns due to a change of mind will be considered on a case-by-case basis and are at the sole discretion of Carmela's Books.

Any approved return must be received in the same condition in which it was supplied.

Return Shipping Costs

Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the purchaser unless:

  • The item has been materially misdescribed;
  • The incorrect item was supplied; or
  • The item was damaged prior to dispatch and the damage was not disclosed.

Refunds

Refunds will be processed once the returned item has been received and inspected.

Refunds will be issued using the original payment method wherever possible.
